Business Overview:
The Data Office Department was created in 2015 to setup, drive and continuously improve the way data is handled throughout the organization in the U.S. under the leadership of the CIB/IP Chief Data Officer. It looks to satisfy the requirements related to principles for effective enterprise data aggregation and reporting and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements. Specifically, the team provides support to all other units related to Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Solutions and Data Privacy & Protection. The Data Office also directly handles several projects.
Department Overview
We are committed to ensuring that all our customers and employees' data is protected, and that our work complies with data protection legislation. We are seeking a Project Manager in the Data Privacy Protection management (DPPM) team to help us improve our management and controls of personal information (PI) through the implementation of a repeatable process and methodology to assess Data Privacy Risks, respond to those risks, and monitor implementation of control enhancement action plans accordingly.
The position will report hierarchically to the CIB Americas Data Privacy and Protection Manager, who reports to CIB Americas Chief Data Officer (CDO).
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will help to roll out the Data Privacy and Protection Program across all CIB for Canada, US and LATAM locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive creation of documents to their completion and manage risks inherent to execution or consequence of the changing context
- Maintain issues and risk log, project plan(s), documentation on the projects, governance materials etc. related to the project
- Review work for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness of staff assigned to support the sub-work stream to ensure high level of qualify on all deliverables
- Support the creation of presentations and summaries for senior management to review and approve documents
- Acts as liaison with head office in Canada, US and LATAM with regards to Data Privacy & Protection efforts and as point of contact for senior management in business lines and functions, locally and globally on the assigned projects.
- Coordinate with teams working on Data Privacy and Protection streams
- Continually drives improvements to the existing processes, reporting and delivery methods
- Develops and maintains knowledge on the Data Privacy and Protection Program so as to constantly adjust, as relevant, your activities to the approach promoted by the Group
- Reviews work for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness of staff assigned to the project to ensure high level of quality on the project
- Experience in taking requirements and working with multiple lines of business
- Ability to practically apply project management concepts to facilitate the achievement of business objectives ensuring predictable, consistent, and successful program delivery
- Master's or degree in business, finance or legal related
- At least 10+ years' experience in project management and business analysis with a minimum of 6 years as project, project portfolio or program manager
- Prior experience working in projects dealing with Data Privacy and Data protection regulations
- Proven knowledge and experience with IT and data flows intensive undertakings
- Knowledge of proprietary technology platforms around either accounting, counterparties, reporting or business intelligence is a plus
- Knowledge of financial industry and related products
- Develops open, considerate and effective relationships with customers, external contacts and primary data consumer senior leadership
- Focused approach to problem solving which must include flexibility while maintaining keeping focus on priorities defined by overall impact
- Ability to think analytically
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with a distributed multinational and multicultural teams
- Ability to work under pressure and creatively address various topics on-hand
- Ability to prioritize and manage a variable workload
- Effectively conveys the message in both written and verbal business discussions
- Have exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines while delivering high quality results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- PMP certification
- AIPP Certifications a plus (CIPM, CIPP/US/CA/EU/C, etc...)
