In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position assesses and recommends individualized treatments. Acts as the primary resource for drug information, education and provides expert advice to health care professionals. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal and economic use of drugs. Maintains workload records and statistics. Shift and Hours Monday to Friday, Days – 08:00 to 16:00 Facility Overview Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with medical imaging, laboratory, ICU, ER and maternity. Services include: Acute Care Internal medicine Internal Medicine Ultrasound CT scans Surgery Emergency department Extended care Pediatrics Radiology Obstetrics Gynecology Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists. Location Prince Rupert is a marine-based port city with one-of-a-kind wilderness exploration and wildlife viewing experiences on northwest BC’s Pacific Coast. It’s also a popular stop on various Alaskan cruises. Located 721 km (447 miles) west of Prince George on Highway 16, Prince Rupert is the land, air, and water transportation hub of British Columbia’s North Coast, and home to 13,500 people. The city sits at the mouth of the Skeena River, surrounded by Chatham Sound and many small, uninhabited islands. The area is perfect for exploring and discovering the fascinating history and customs of local First Nations people. Prince Rupert is recognized as one of the world’s largest and leading ports, and port facility expansion in the area ensures a multitude of economic opportunities now and in the future.
