Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all departments within their metal fabrication business, including production, welding, and paint operations. This position will play a pivotal role in coordinating production activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met, reporting to senior management, and fostering team building across all levels of the organization.

This role actively engages in projects aimed at enhancing productivity, quality, and safety while nurturing a positive and collaborative work environment through team building initiatives.

Work performed will support company-wide, business unit or brand initiative.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee and manage all aspects of production within the metal fabrication facility, including production, welding and paint operations, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products to customers.

· Coordinate production activities across departments to optimize workflow and maximize operational efficiency, utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles to identify and eliminate waste.

· Develop and implement strategic production plans and strategies to meet customer demands, achieve operational targets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

· Act as the Laser Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.

· Lead and mentor department supervisors and production staff, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for skill development, and organizing team building activities to promote collaboration and cohesion.

· Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues, implement process improvements, and enhance product quality.

· Monitor production metrics and performance indicators, analyzing data to identify trends, measure progress against goals, and implement corrective actions as needed.

· Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management, providing insights into production performance, challenges, and opportunities, and proposing strategies for improvement.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives, actively participating in projects to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.

· Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in metal fabrication and manufacturing, and incorporate relevant innovations into production processes.

Qualifications

· Proven leadership experience within the sheet metal fabrication industry, with comprehensive knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality standards.

· Experience with ISO quality management systems and compliance standards preferred.

· Strong planning, facilitation, and organizational skills

· Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving production targets, meeting customer needs, and continuously improving processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage several concurrent projects with competing priorities.

· Must have experience with ERP Software along with Microsoft Office products.

· Motivated, self-starter with a passion for life-long learning

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop effective solutions.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence others, and foster a positive work culture.

Preferred Education

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field.

· Certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence.

· Laser Safety Officer certification or equivalent training and experience in laser safety protocols and procedures.
