Position: Computer Systems TechnicianLocation: Ottawa - On-sitePosting Type: Open vacancy We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Civil and Land Engineering firm in Ottawa, Canada, for a permanent, full-time, on-site Computer Systems Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional IT team and provide critical support across the organization. What the Role Involves: Providing hands‑on IT support to employees across the organization, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of computer systems, mobile devices, printers, scanners, AV equipment, and network peripherals. Supporting staff with video conferencing, phone systems, and other technology solutions to ensure smooth operations. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a Windows environment, including operating systems, device drivers, and common applications. Coordinating with internal IT team members and third‑party providers to resolve technical issues and ensure security and reliability of systems. Supporting critical production deadlines and ensuring staff have efficient, reliable IT solutions. Contributing to IT projects such as evaluating new technologies and assisting with system upgrades. Maintaining professional communication with all staff while managing multiple support requests in a fast‑paced environment. Requirements: 2 to 5 years of professional experience in IT support, desktop support, or similar roles. Post‑secondary diploma in Computer Systems or related field. Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with IT security protocols, cloud computing, and common threats and countermeasures. Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including network peripherals, printers, mobile devices, and AV systems. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and polished presence. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative IT team.
