Senior Electrical Design Engineer Location: Calgary, AB | Full-Time, On-Site | Salary: $80k-$120k+ (based on experience) About The Opportunity We’re working with a well-established building engineering consultancy in Calgary that is actively seeking a Intermediate/Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This firm is known for its collaborative culture, award‑winning project portfolio, and focus on high‑performance building systems across a range of sectors including commercial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed‑use developments. This is a fully on‑site role, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with their team, contributing to technically complex projects, and mentoring junior designers. Key Responsibilities Lead the electrical design for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects across a variety of sectors Develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and Revit Perform lighting calculations, power distribution layouts, and low‑voltage system design Ensure designs are code‑compliant and aligned with project requirements and timelines Attend client meetings and site visits; act as a key technical contact throughout the project lifecycle Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge‑sharing environment Qualifications 3‑8+ years of electrical design experience in the building consulting industry P.Eng. or EIT designation in Alberta Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting/power calculation tools Strong understanding of OESC, CEC, Alberta and National Building Code, and related electrical standards Excellent communication skills and experience with client‑facing responsibilities Previous experience with LEED projects, smart building systems, or sustainability‑focused design is an asset Why Join Be part of a tight‑knit, high‑performing team with a strong project pipeline in Western Canada Gain exposure to award‑winning, technically challenging projects Work in a firm that values initiative, mentorship, and continuous professional growth If you’re looking to take the next step in your career with a firm that values both technical skill and team culture, we’d love to hear from you.
