Join to apply for the Educator, Wound, Ostomy & Skin Continence role at Providence Health Care4 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Educator, Wound, Ostomy & Skin Continence role at Providence Health CareGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr. - CAD $63.47/Hr.Reporting to the Patient Care Manager and working in collaboration with the Chief of Professional Practice and Nursing or designateProvide consultation and education in wound, ostomy, and continence care.Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and interdisciplinary team members.Work with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) across BC to support consistent, standards-based care.Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate education programs for staff.Promote evidence-based clinical interventions in client care planning.Build staff capacity and competence in wound, ostomy, and continence care.Support quality improvement and best practices across care sites.Travel between PHC sites using personal vehicle or shuttle service as required.Regular local travel is required, especially for roles supporting Residential sites.EducationCurrent practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and MidwivesTwo (2) years recent, related advanced wound/ ostomy/ continence care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute of Canada (NSWOCC) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence- Education Program (WOC-EP) or the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN).Skills and AbilitiesAbility to teach, coach, and provide clinical support.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.Ability to identify learning needs and develop educational programs.Ability to provide and/or develop resource materials, including educational materials.Ability to demonstrate knowledge of adult education principles.Ability to lead a group.Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client and family centered model of care.Comprehensive knowledge of the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice.Comprehensive knowledge of evidence based nursing practice related to designated clinical area.Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to provide leadership and work direction.Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies.Ability to prioritize and organize work independently.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to operate related equipment, including computers.Ability to adjust to new or unexpected events.A competitive salary The salary range for this position is $49.20-$63.47 per hour depending on experience.A comprehensive health benefits package including dental, vision, and life insurance as well as pension for elligible employeesMeaningful impact Your dedication and expertise will directly impact the lives of individuals struggling with health emergency situations.Growth opportunities We welcome individuals at all stages of their career, offering opportunities for professional development and growth.State-of-the-art facilities The new St. Paul’s Hospital and health campus will be the most innovative approach to the delivery of integrated care in B.C. and Canada, designed to appropriately address the future health needs of patients, families and our communities.
