Location Calgary, Alberta (with potential for hybrid/remote flexibility and travel to new markets in Canada and the US) Job Summary The Director of Operations and Growth will play a pivotal role in scaling byHendo's operations, overseeing sales, marketing, and distribution efforts to fuel our expansion into new regions across Canada and the United States. This hands-on position requires a strategic leader who can optimize supply chains, build partnerships, and execute growth initiatives while ensuring operational efficiency and brand consistency. Reporting directly to the executive team, you'll be instrumental in turning our ambitious vision into reality, driving revenue growth and market penetration in the competitive ready-to-drink cocktail industry. Responsibilities Sales and Marketing Management: Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share, including identifying key accounts, negotiating partnerships with retailers, bars, and distributors. Lead marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility, utilizing digital channels, events, and promotions tailored to regional preferences in Canada and the US. Distribution and Supply Chain Oversight: Manage end-to-end distribution logistics, from production coordination to inventory management and delivery. Optimize supply chains for efficiency, compliance with regional regulations (e.g., alcohol distribution laws in various provinces/states), and cost-effectiveness while expanding into new territories. Growth and Expansion: Drive entry into untapped markets in Canada (e.g., Ontario, British Columbia) and the US (e.g., key states like California, New York). Conduct market research, build relationships with local distributors, and monitor performance metrics to ensure successful launches and sustained growth. Operational Efficiency: Streamline internal processes, including forecasting demand, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring product quality and consistency across all channels. Implement tools and systems for tracking sales, inventory, and performance data. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Build and mentor a cross-functional team in sales, marketing, and operations. Collaborate with production, finance, and compliance teams to align on goals and resolve challenges. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track KPIs such as sales targets, market penetration, and ROI on marketing efforts. Provide regular reports to leadership with actionable insights to inform strategic decisions. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities adhere to alcohol industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines in both Canada and the US. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in operations, sales, or marketing roles within the beverage, alcohol, or consumer goods industry. Proven track record of driving business growth, including successful market expansions (experience in Canada-US cross-border operations is a plus). Strong understanding of distribution logistics, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance in the alcohol sector. Experience with sales forecasting, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and marketing platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social media ads). Required Skills Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute growth plans in dynamic markets. Leadership and Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for team management, stakeholder negotiations, and presenting to executives. Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in data analysis to inform decisions and optimize performance. Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with willingness to travel (up to 30%) for market visits and partnerships. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with ready-to-drink cocktails, trends in the beverage market, and regional consumer preferences.
