Reporting to the Manager of Labour Relations, the Craft Recruiter is responsible for providing recruitment support for trades positions and will assist with building and fostering a positive labour relations environment between our Project Teams and trade union partners.

What You’ll Do HereCollaborate with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance on the screening process. Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through the appropriate media – professional organizations, career fairs/educational institutions, cold calling, and other websites/social media forums. Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine qualifications. Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation (offer letters, agreements, etc.).

Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, site admins and stakeholders to foster effective relationships. Support creation and maintenance of Job Descriptions as required. Maintain up to date knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices for recruitment. Other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Bring to the TeamDegree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in full cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment required. Preference would be given to those with construction, heavy civil, oil and gas, mining or similar experience. Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is required.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of provincial employment laws, best practices and legal framework. Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills is essential.

Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi task and to function independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

with HRIS systems. Advanced computer skills MS Office including Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and grievance or document management systems. Valid Driver’s License required for frequent travel to meetings and conferences. Ability to travel to project sites is an asset.
