Job Description Position Summary This role completes winter operations by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; conducting quality inspections; supervising subcontractors and staff. The position reports to the Patrol Supervisor and Operations Manager in the Supervisor’s absence and will supervise crew in completing the project, ensuring safety and timely completion of tasks. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. Follow clearly communicated instructions from supervisors and provide supervision to the crew. Follow the outlined weekly work plan for yourself and work crews. Maintain accurate payroll records for the workers. Help create and verify accurate Winter Operations Records. Maintain communications with patrollers and supervisors regarding job status and updates. Maintain and supervise a clean jobsite free of tripping hazards and unnecessary obstacles. Actively participate in the Performance and Development Review process, ensuring alignment with performance pillars. Carry out all work activities upholding the company values and meeting client outcome targets. Contribute positively to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment. Carry out all duties in line with company policies and procedures. Perform visual inspections on culverts, fencing, bridges, and other infrastructure as needed. Perform additional duties as requested by Operations Manager, Project Manager, Patrol Supervisor, or Winter Patroller. Avoid legal challenges by complying with Canadian and Provincial legal requirements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in operating company tools and equipment. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Fluency in reading, speaking, and writing English. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; a team player. Highly organized and detail‑driven. Proficient computer skills, including data entry and timely submission of reports. Education and Experience High School Diploma / GED required. Experience as a Foreman/Crew Supervisor within the related industry and road construction projects. Basic supervision experience. Valid DZ driver’s license required and a good driving record to operate company vehicle; willingness to acquire license within a set timeframe. Work Conditions / Physical Demands Capable of climbing ladders. Capable of working in a fast‑paced environment. Capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted. Ability to perform work while wearing personal protective equipment (winter coats, rain gear, hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses). Position will require backup for the Patrol Supervisor and may necessitate overtime during the week and on weekends. Availability for emergency response as required, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
