They collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to enhance student success and well-being. Child and Youth Counsellors promote, support, and facilitate school and class-wide preventative initiatives and programs that foster healthy, safe, and inclusive Catholic school environments. As part of an inter-disciplinary team, CYC s provide direct small group and individual support for students of all ages impacted by a range of social, emotional, and developmental concerns.Qualifications / ExperienceQualified applicants will hold a Child Care Youth Worker Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.Related work experience.Knowledge of Board policies and procedures.Problem solving, planning and creativity skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies.This position is covered by the A.P.S.S.P Collective Agreement.RequiredPlease be advised as a condition of employment with the Board, candidates will be required to provide the following documentation upon hire:An original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six (6) months.Equity and InclusionThe Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is committed to supporting a strong and equitable workforce that will foster the success and well-being of our students, staff, and wider Catholic school communities.
