You will support and specialize in the day-to-day tasks of returning equipment to operational capability. Your focus will be on short-term response to equipment failures, field troubleshooting support, and timely work scopes. You will also support the safe and reliable operation of equipment by completing integrity assessments and recommendations to the Production Unit (PU).Minimum RequirementsMinimum of seven years of engineering experience with fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, piping systems and familiarity with rotating assets.Relevant field experience supporting maintenance and operations in an industrial environmentBachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringRegistered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)Key AccountabilitiesImprove existing asset strategies by working closely with maintenance, planners, and operations on reliability issues and failure trendsProvide front line support by troubleshooting and generating repair scopes of work to address emerging operational equipment issues. Ensure that the equipment in the PU is maintained in a cost-effective manner by preparing Non-Replacement in Kind repair scopes for both on-site and off-site workSupport root-cause analysis of failures and ensure equipment design changes align with the engineering management systems and are evaluated for the impact on equipment reliability; lead the engineering design of minor plant and equipment modificationsWork closely with maintenance execution and planning personnel to solicit feedback on repair scopesComplete fitness for service assessments and provide recommendations on repair, replace or return to serviceSupport Major Event/Turnarounds by providing technical oversight of removal/installation of equipment or components, reviewing plans and schedules, completing found work repair scopes, guidance on any deviations required for SOW, prompt response to requests for informationLocation and Other Key DetailsThis position is located at our Sarnia Refinery Plant location in OntarioThis is a Monday - Friday 40 hour work weekIf you reside outside of Sarnia, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Sarnia is mandatory.
