Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our top-notch team. If you're a passionate self-starter, Spunt & Carin is the right place for you.

Responsibilities
Organize important dates and deadlines related to client files
Communicate with clients to schedule meetings, interviews, and examinations
Booking meetings between clients and attorneys
Manage, organize, and maintain documents in our physical and our digital filing systems
Preparing any and all documents and files for court
Assisting lawyers in obtaining legal and factual documents
Communicating with opposing counsel and other parties, clients, judicial administrative staff
Correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials by electronic filing, email or fax
Communicating with and preparing documents for bailiffs
Assist in drafting brief letters or proceedings
Performing ad-hoc administrative duties
·      Answer incoming calls and routing calls as necessary
·      Scheduling new consultations with potential clients
Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation

Qualifications
One of the following: Paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor’s degree
Experience answering a multi-line phone system
1-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
Excellent customer service
Efficient multitasking
Detail-oriented and extremely organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Gmail
Ability to work independently, manage a large workload, and respect deadlines
Excellent at time management
Fluent in French and English
