Azure Platform Engineer

The Role
A Platform Engineer at Tactable is a seasoned professional with deep understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure, automation principles, and a security-first mindset. In this role, you’ll take the lead in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based platforms and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and implement IaC solutions (Terraform strongly preferred) to automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources (VMs, networks, storage, etc.)
Automation and administration of Databricks environments, including account setup, Unity Catalog, workspace management, cluster configuration, and user access controls.
Oversee Kubernetes cluster administration, including configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
Design and optimize Azure cloud environments with well-architected framework and best practices in mind.
Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, emphasizing code quality, security scanning, and an automated deployment process.
Demonstrate expertise in Azure networking concepts to design and maintain secure and efficient network topologies using VNets, NSGs, VPNs, load balancing, etc.
Integrate security principles throughout the development and deployment lifecycles, leveraging tools for vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and compliance monitoring.

Required Core Skills:

5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, cloud architecture.
Advanced understanding of Azure infrastructure (GCP/AWS is a bonus) and implementing IaC.
Advanced understanding and experience in managing and automating Databricks environment.
Advanced understanding of monitoring and observability solutions such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Application Insights.
Advanced understanding of Networking and Security Principles, including Azure VNets, NSGs, Firewalls, Azure AD, IAM.
Advanced understanding of architecting and building CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps.
Advanced working knowledge of DevSecOps methodology and solutions.
Strong understanding of containerization, Kubernetes, and container orchestration using AKS.
Strong proficiency in scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash.
Development experience with C# or Node.js is highly preferred.
Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced start-up environment and the ability to be cross-functional.

Other Skills:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and or equivalent industry experience.
Strong preference to Microsoft Azure Associate or Expert.
Databricks certifications are a bonus.
Good to have GCP/AWS Certifications.
Strong communication skills to translate technical knowledge to business language.
Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Strong understanding of Jira and ServiceNow.
