We are a well-established engineering and manufacturing company of hydraulic, pneumatic cylinders, electro-hydraulic actuators and process control systems is currently looking for an Application Engineer to join our team.

We provide valve manufacturers and end-users with solutions focused on delivering a full array of reliable actuator products and services, on-time and to spec, regardless of your project scope, size or complexity. We handle Design and engineering, R&D/testing, manufacturing and assembly, comprehensive customer service and support.

The company’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities are based in Montreal; sales are managed through its Ontario and Texas sales offices in conjunction with Regional Business Partners.

Role:
In this role, your primary responsibility is to develop, design, and provide cost estimates for technical solutions in response to customer inquiries. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D. A robust engineering and manufacturing background in the fluid power industry is essential for success in this position. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly SOLIDWORKS CAD software, is a prerequisite.

Experience
· Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
· 3-5 years of previous design experience in the fluid power industry within a manufacturing environment
· Expertise and experience with Actuators.
· Possess a robust understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic automation systems (component sizing & selection, system schematics & layouts)
· Strong problem-solving skills to address complex client challenges.
· Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
· Perform engineering calculations to validate design.
· 3D solid modeling with SolidWorks, is a must
· Creation and maintenance of engineering models and Bills of Materials
· Good knowledge of Windows 10+ environment, Office 365 and common applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Ability to learn product information quickly.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, French and English

Responsibilities:
Work closely with the sales team to understand customers requirements and inquiries and determine the ideal technical solution using existing technology and the company’s existing product line
Develop, design solutions and provide costing.
Clearly communicate technical concepts and solutions to both internal teams and clients.
Offer after-sales technical support to customers.
Offer technical support to all departments (sales, engineering, manufacturing, R&D)
Assist in product documentation when necessary (Instruction & maintenance manual, hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical schematics, 3D product drawings)
Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions.
Collaborate with marketing and provide details on new technical solutions.
Provide hands-on project management and testing when required.
Develop and promote best practice standards.
Develop tools to enhance work efficiency.

NOTE: Excellent written and oral communications are required for this role, as you will need to communicate with internal and external clients in Western Canada on a regular basis.

Vous collaborerez avec une équipe multidisciplinaire de professionnels, notamment des représentants commerciaux, des ingénieurs, des fabricants et des chercheurs en développement. Une solide expérience en ingénierie et en fabrication dans l'industrie de la puissance fluidique est essentielle pour réussir dans ce poste. La maîtrise des applications informatiques, en particulier du logiciel de CAO SOLIDWORKS, est une condition préalable.

Expérience
· Diplôme de premier cycle en génie mécanique.
· 3 à 5 ans d'expérience antérieure en conception dans l'industrie de la puissance fluidique au sein d'un environnement manufacturier.
· Posséder une compréhension approfondie des systèmes d'automatisation pneumatiques et hydrauliques (dimensionnement et sélection des composants, schémas et agencements de systèmes).
· Solides compétences en résolution de problèmes pour répondre à des défis clients complexes.
· Connaissance des normes de l'industrie et des meilleures pratiques.
· Effectuer des calculs d'ingénierie pour valider la conception.
· Modélisation solide en 3D avec SolidWorks, est indispensable.
· Création et maintenance de modèles d'ingénierie et de nomenclatures.
· Bonne connaissance de l'environnement Windows 10+, Office 365 et des applications courantes Word, Excel, PowerPoint et Outlook.
· Capacité à assimiler rapidement des informations sur les produits.
· Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale, en français et en anglais.

Responsibilities:

Travailler en étroite collaboration avec l'équipe de vente pour comprendre les besoins et les demandes des clients, et déterminer la solution technique idéale en utilisant la technologie existante et la gamme de produits existante de l'entreprise.
Développer, concevoir des solutions et fournir des estimations de coûts.
Communiquer clairement les concepts et les solutions techniques aux équipes internes et aux clients.
Offrir un support technique après-vente aux clients.
Fournir un support technique à tous les départements (ventes, ingénierie, fabrication, R&D).
Aider à la documentation des produits lorsque nécessaire (manuel d'instruction et de maintenance, schémas hydrauliques/pneumatiques/électriques, dessins de produits en 3D).
Rester informé sur les tendances de l'industrie et les technologies émergentes pour fournir des solutions de pointe.
Collaborer avec le marketing et fournir des détails sur les nouvelles solutions techniques.
Fournir une gestion de projet pratique et des tests lorsque nécessaire.
Développer et promouvoir des normes de bonnes pratiques.
Développer des outils pour améliorer l'efficacité du travail.
