We are looking for a Group Account Director to cover a maternity leave. At FCB Toronto, the Group Account Director is responsible for managing, supporting, and servicing our clients. They use strategic thinking, creative development, organizational skills, and exceptional relationship building skills to map back to the client’s goals and business challenges. You will lead the management of relationships with senior clients day-to-day, as well as champion internal team members. We want someone who can push clients, and the agency, creatively and strategically to do amazing work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Relationships
Become a trusted advisor that the client turns to first Hold regular one-on-ones with senior clients to discuss client-agency relations, and lead process improvements with clients Lead communications planning meetings with senior clients and proactively provide thought leadership
Account Stewardship
Initiate and guide the strategic direction and business goals for respective clients Create Account Plans, addressing client opportunities, internal growth areas, revenue and profitability Take an active role in career development for all direct reports and conduct on-going career conversations while providing mentorship Responsible for the onboarding of new business, and delegation to internal teams Aspire to and inspire world-class creative with clients and within the agency team and advocate for 4, 5, 6 work
Financials & Planning
Establish revenue projections for each client and monitor during the year Provide the client with monthly reconciliation and programs summary Build the staffing plan based on projected revenue as part of the annual Account Plan Attend monthly profitability meetings led by Finance and adjust internal processes accordingly
Agency Leadership
Lead major agency initiatives to share knowledge and encourage participation among junior employees Seek appropriate growth opportunities (workshops, training programs) for their team Encourage and actively initiate collaborative relationships among all disciplines within the agency Schedule and hold regular one-on-ones with account staff to manage any issue and troubleshoot effectively when needed
Qualifications
Has 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 1 year experience at the Group Account Director level Possesses an integrated background with strong brand, digital, social, TV/OLV, activation, and analytical experience Has the ability to provide big picture strategic thinking, vision and insights to drive big ideas and initiatives Possess collaborative leadership skills that encourage team cooperation and motivate relationship-building Is self-confident in oral, written, strategic and analytical abilities Demonstrates a strong track record of developing and building key partnerships with clients, internal and external teams Demonstrates strong, fully developed staff management skills
