Job DescriptionCome join our passionate culinary team You will have the opportunity to create a wide range of cultural cuisines, work with local partners, feature special dishes with your own flair, and impact our customers' dining experience.We are hiring full‑time Sous Chefs to join our team at Teeranga Commons Dining Hall on Carleton University campus. Working with the management team on a daily basis, the Sous Chef I oversees all activities of our cooks and other kitchen personnel engaged in preparing and cooking food, in addition to managing, training, and providing culinary vision and leadership in a high‑volume environment.What We OfferHealth benefits (full‑time employees)Training and development opportunitiesEmployee recognition programs including service awardsMeal programStrong focus on a safe and healthy work environmentDiverse and inclusive workforceAbout The JobOversee and take part in food production for the operationProvide high quality food in a professional and efficient mannerResolve customer concerns in a timely and courteous mannerRespond to customer inquiries regarding menu item preparation, including dietary restrictions and allergiesDevelop and motivate team members by providing culinary leadership and trainingManage and task culinary staff while maintaining accountability and fostering an engaging cultureResponsible for ensuring a clean, safe and healthy work environment and compliance with food safety regulationsPlan and execute food preparationParticipate in inventory control and manage daily labour schedulesEnsure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and ProceduresMay perform other job duties as requiredAbout YouMultiple years in the culinary fieldProfessional culinary training is an assetRed Seal Certification is an assetPassion for food and hospitalityExcellent people management skills; experience training and supervising team membersWorking knowledge and training on all health & safety standards and sanitation standards i.e. Food Safe, GHS, Health and Safety Policies, food‑handling techniquesThe selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.About AramarkAt Aramark, we empower our people to create moments that matter through exceptional hospitality experiences.
