The Director of CAEES will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the organization, advancing the Centre's mandate to equip students and industry professionals with the skills needed to navigate the evolving energy landscape. The Director will foster engagement with the region's industry leaders and communities and ensure alignment of CAEES's programming and initiatives, while building meaningful partnerships and meeting key performance measures.

About CAEES

The Centre for Applied Energy and Environmental Sustainability (CAEES) at NLC is poised to become a leader in sustainable energy education and innovation, supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy in British Columbia. CAEES is replacing the Centre of Training Excellence for Oil and Gas (CTEOG), which has played a critical role in preparing a skilled workforce for BC's natural gas sector. However, the evolving energy landscape, driven by the province's ambitious decarbonization goals, necessitates a bold reconceptualization of the Centre's mandate and offerings.

The reimagined Centre will offer an expanded curriculum that encompasses both traditional trades in natural gas extraction and emerging technologies in clean energy, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and carbon capture and storage. By integrating cutting-edge technologies, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous knowledge into its programs, CAEES will ensure that its graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in a rapidly changing energy sector.
