The Ministry supports Albertans through a person-centered, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families. The Manager, Disability Services, North Zone provides leadership and oversight for the delivery of supports and services under the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) programs. Reporting to the Director, Disability Services, North Zone, this position ensures that programs and services are delivered in alignment with legislative requirements, provincial standards, and the department’s vision to strengthen families and support adults with developmental disabilities to live safely and independently in their communities. This role leads and supports Case Management teams to ensure consistent service quality, fiscal accountability, and alignment with business plan goals. The Manager collaborates extensively with community stakeholders, service providers, and cross-ministry partners to foster integration and responsive service delivery for children, youth, adults with disabilities, and their families. Key Responsibilities Lead, coordinate, and monitor case management activities to ensure compliance with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) legislation, policies, and standards. Provide supervision and guidance to Supervisors and Caseworkers delivering services to children, families, and adults with developmental disabilities. Oversee service design, implementation, and quality assurance to ensure programs are person-centered and outcome focused. Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, cross-ministry partners, and Indigenous communities to support integrated service delivery. Ensure fiscal responsibility through budget forecasting, expenditure monitoring, and funding approvals. Support continuous improvement initiatives and monitor performance to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services. Represent Disability Services on committees and working groups to support program development, collaboration, and policy alignment. Interact effectively with leadership levels of government within Disability Services, Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) and other ministries as well as other stakeholders. Qualifications University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by three years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis. Assets Master’s degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field. Proven leadership experience in disability services or community-based program management. Strong knowledge and understanding of financial management, budgeting, and contracting processes. Proven ability in strategic planning, program development, and team leadership. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and policies (e.g. Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Act, Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Act). Experience using data systems to inform decision-making. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders and advisory groups. Exceptional communication across, problem-solving, and change management skills. Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaboration. Demonstrated success working within a unionized environment. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and client-centered service delivery. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to travel occasionally within Northern Alberta. Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday North Zone North Alberta: Edmonton and greater area.North West Alberta: Whitecourt, and Grande Prairie.North East Alberta: St. Paul, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Fort McMurray, and Westlock.
