Our Family Office service team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Senior Manager to help deliver high‑touch service to our multi‑family office clients. The successful candidate will act as a financial quarterback to our clients and their families; and will be responsible for managing the daily accounting/financial activities for multiple client entities, strategic reporting, financial modelling. The candidate will support the Family Office team in overall productivity and effectiveness of the practice and will foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will work collaboratively and cross‑functionally with key stakeholders across partners, senior leaders, business unit leaders, accounts, marketing, finance, information technology, human resources, executive team and external service providers. The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, attention to detail, an entrepreneurial spirit, a high bar for client service excellence and a passion for working with some of the most successful business families and entrepreneurs in Canada. The individual possesses a keen understanding of professional services practice, multi‑disciplined service lines and strong client relationship management skills.What You Will DoAct as a controller to clients and maintain a consolidated view of their overall financial/investment picture and provide strategic advice on cash flow management, financial performance and forecastingCoordinate accounting, bookkeeping, investment reporting activities and oversee the finance/accounting/bookkeeping team’s activitiesAct as the key liaison for the client and hold regular status update meetings in conjunction with the Lead Family Office Relationship Manager, Lead Partner and Family Office LeaderConduct financial reconciliation, accuracy checks and maintain a strong understanding of complex financial structures involving investment companies, brokerage and bank accounts, credit and lending structures, trusts, partnerships, and estate planningPrepare customized reporting including financial modeling and Key Performance Indicator reports using Family Office technology and other toolsMaintain client’s document management system and related technology platformCoordinate financial activities with external/internal advisors (bankers, accountants, lawyers) such as their investment activities, capital calls, and conduct a comprehensive analysis of the client’s pro forma informationTogether with the Wealth Strategy leader, offer advice on optimizing cash flow and the overall structureMaintain an understanding of the investments and a general understanding of the fiscal, legal and accounting implicationsAct as the project manager for Multi‑Family office or Single‑family office engagements and coordinate various client related moving parts and ensure on‑time responses and deliverySupport the Lead Relationship Manager and Family office Leader with the proposal processHelp to maintain client prospect lists, pipeline reports and other business development/ leadership update reportsWhat You Bring To The RoleBachelor's or master’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting; CPA - CGA is an asset7+ years client facing/relationship management with a focus on financial analysis, accounting and bookkeeping or wealth strategyPrior audit, tax, financial controller experience is an assetPrior experience working with a Family Office or professional services organization in a similar role is an assetAbility to synthesize large quantities of complex data into meaningful insights for the clientAbility to work and effectively communicate with senior‑level business partnersExcellent business judgment, analytical and decision‑making skillsKnowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, etc.Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong interpersonal/facilitation and client relationship management skillsHas an eagerness to learn and help grow the practiceStrong familiarity with KPMG service lines and strong network within professional services is an assetAbility to work strategically and collaboratively across functions/groupsEffective, versatile and action‑orientedAdjustments and accommodations throughout the recruitment processAt KPMG, we are committed to fostering an inclusive recruitment process where all candidates can be themselves and excel.
