Reporting to the Senior Manager, ICFR and Process Analysis, you will document and identify the effectiveness of financial controls as part of the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program based on the COSO framework. You will also manage, oversee and recommend modifications and enhancements to financial and operational systems by understanding business objectives and analysing applications / systems related to ICFR (e.g., SAP).If you have an ICFR compliance mindset and an energetic personality who enjoys diving into control details, completing process and financial analysis, then this is the role for youAbout the RoleLead evaluation of key controls for ICFR assessment cycles, responsible for strengthening the overall internal control environment related to the specified workstreams of reconciliations & attestations and general ledger chart of accounts.Review and assess existing financial controls framework, processes and controls, identifying issues / opportunities, make recommendations to enhance the financial control environment and oversee implementation of process / control changes and improvements to SAP workflows / processes.Liaise with control owners to update and maintain ICFR process narratives and flowcharts.Maintain and update Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) to identify and assess risks in addition to any improvements to strengthen controls that impact financial statements.Provide oversight to and guidance on financial reporting related controls.Manage and coordinate the annual project plan and any ICFR documentation for assigned test cycle(s) via SharePoint site for annual ICFR assessment.Report and maintain remediation plan with recommendation to address deficiencies and gaps.Monitor remediation of outstanding gaps with controls owners, providing guidance to remediate control deficiencies identified through GAP analyses and process / control assessment.Review and mitigate remediation plans with management, segregating interim actions from long-term measures for Post Incident Reviews (PIRs).Coordinate with Internal Audit Services (IAS) and External Auditors i.e., office of the Auditor General (AG) of Ontario on ICFR assessment, updating and providing controls related documentation.Manage ICFR charter, ensuring requirements are fulfilled and documented, as directed.About YouPost-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Commerce is required.An accounting or Finance designation (CPA, CA, CIA) is an asset.Detailed understanding of audit assertions, in-depth knowledge of governance, risk and compliance frameworks such as COSO 2013, COBIT and regulatory frameworks such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and NI 52-109.Thorough understanding of financial statement assertions and their practical application related to financial controls in a retail environment.7+ years experience in internal and external audit, testing financial controls, documenting process narratives and flowcharts etc.5+ years of experience in process analysis, problem solving, report writing and presentation to senior management.Reasonable understanding of SAP functionalities and its use.Good mentoring skills and strong ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to plan, schedule, execute and control projects by identifying and assigning resources, leading and motivating the project team, managing stakeholder expectations and communicating with various teams.Ability to make timely decisions based on a combination of data, professional judgment and common sense.Effective communication skills both written and verbal in addition to organizational and time-management skills.Knowledge of MS Office especially Word, PowerPoint and Visio are required along with a reasonable knowledge of Excel.BenefitsHealth/Dental BenefitsAccess to an Employee & Family Assistance ProgramA Defined Benefit PensionDiscounts on products and services via Workperks.The LCBO is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing employment accommodation in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
