CECI seeks to improve the social and economic well-being of the poorest, most disadvantaged people in communities in Africa, Asia, and the Americas and volunteers are at the core of this work. Ensuring women and young women are empowered and fully play their role as agents of change for a sustainable, inclusive development is central to CECI's work. CECI volunteers work towards women and young women's economic empowerment and the climate change resilience of communities by sharing their skills and expertise and working hand in hand with local partners.

Communication Advisor - Remote

In Rwanda, CECI supports the economic empowerment of vulnerable women: farmers and breeders, heads of household and young mothers, those living in refugee camps or involved in cross-border trade. Although considerable progress has been made towards gender equality in Rwanda, especially at the political level, the situation of women at the household level requires effort. CECI volunteers work in collaboration with civil society organizations to improve women's economic opportunities. In collaboration with women's rights organizations, volunteers also support the creation of an enabling environment for gender equality.

Functions
  • Support the partner organization to develop communication materials to demonstrate the impact of their activities.
  • Assist the partner organization in designing presentation templates and website content.
  • Provide support to compile content for press releases, articles, and newsletters.
  • Assist partner organizations in executing their fundraising strategy and provide assistance with proposal writing as necessary to advance women's economic empowerment and environmental protection.
  • Take into account gender equality, rights, and diversity in all activities, with particular emphasis on the participation and representation of women and young women in all activities.
  • Participate in communication activities that might include a fundraising event, designed to share your volunteering experience with those around you and raise awareness of international solidarity issues. li>
Requirements
  • Degree in communication, journalism, international relations, linguistics, literature, or related field.
  • Experience in communication or related area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey messages effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in English and/or French, knowledge of both languages is an asset.
  • Flexible schedule, based on your availability.
  • Participation in a pre-assignment training where you will have the opportunity to learn about CECI and gain practical skills for working in international cooperation.
