Today our integrated health care organization includes Lakeland Long Term Care, six nursing stations delivering care to rural communities, management of district ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90‑bed acute‑care hospital. About the Opportunity We are currently looking for a Registered Technologist – Ultrasound to join our interdisciplinary team of skilled professionals. Reporting to the Manager of Laboratory and Medical Imaging, the incumbent will work as part of a highly skilled interdisciplinary team. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for coordinating, performing, and evaluating diagnostic ultrasound examinations and will work directly with the Radiologist. The hours of work are all shifts, including weekends and being on standby as required by the department. Benefits Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) 14% pay in lieu of fringe benefits (12% if enrolled in HOOPP) 4% vacation pay Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Wellness Program & onsite gym Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work references Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs (Microsoft Office, Meditech, PACS) Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member Registration with Sonography Canada would be an asset Proficient in scanning carotid arteries would be an asset Nuchal translucency certification would be an asset For the safety and well‑being of our patients, employees, and visitors, we require proof of COVID‑19 vaccination before commencing employment.
