Heidelberg Materials is currently looking for a Scale Operator to join our local team based in Victoria, BC. This position is temporary for 6 months.

What you will get to do:

Health & Safety Administration

Administer site orientations for incoming truck operators, contractors, and visitors to ensure all necessary policies and procedures are communicated and understood

Administer site visitor register to ensure an accurate register of non-employee personnel on site is always available

Ensure housekeeping of scale building is consistent with a world-class operation

Weighbridge Administration

Generate accurate bills of lading for loaded vehicles in accordance with established policies, enter purchase order, address, vehicle, customer, and other required information accurately

Process credit or debit card payments and complete all associated reporting

Communicate product descriptions, availability, and on-site locations, as needed

Communicate with operations personnel, including mobile equipment operators, maintenance tradespersons, supervisors, and managers, as necessary

Communicate with sales and distribution personnel, as necessary

Operations Administration

Assist in tracking of on-site inventory, utilizing all necessary computer systems

Complete inbound and outbound shipping and receiving processes

Who we are looking for:

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Proficient in the use of computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365

Very organized and able to manage many ongoing tasks simultaneously

Able to work extended hours and irregular schedules, as required

Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to lift and carry pails or boxes

Experience in weighbridge, data, or office administration is an asset

Role operates primarily at the scale house window located in a busy aggregate depot where the conditions include heavy trucks and mobile equipment operating, dust, elevated noise, hot/cold conditions.
