SENER identifies the Canadian market as one of the more relevant strategic markets. At this time our office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer based in Toronto to join our team. This position will work on the urban integration part of projects for rail transit infrastructure (high speed, metro, LRT, streetcars, subway extensions, etc.) – candidates must be local to be considered while helping in the business development for the public transportation sector in collaboration with our bridge engineering team. Responsibilities Support the business development team for potential opportunities for highway bridges in collaboration with the bridge engineering team across Canada. Revise the design provided by subconsultant and/or back office. Supervise back office and subcontractors on the delivery of construction design of urban integration (roads) in an urban environment. Supervise the development of the discipline within the project assigned, reporting progress and schedule to the design management team. Potentially act as Engineer of Records for final design where that function is not part of a subcontractor. Liaise with clients, reporting progress, design solutions, alternatives, and risks. Provide technical input within multidisciplinary design teams. Requirements 10‑15 years of experience in transportation and urban integration locally. Professional Engineer registration mandatory. Experience in detailed design coordination. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Attention to detail and ability to work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner. Ability to report effectively with upper management, coworkers, clients, vendors, partners, and contractors. Willingness to learn, develop, and apply new techniques, standards, and processes as well as to take on additional tasks as needed. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Excellent analytical, technical writing, organizational, time‑management, and critical thinking skills. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is critical.
