Job Description

People Leadership
  1. Participate in hiring and promotion processes to support Department and Store Manager’s decisions
  2. Effectively executing talent management programs designed to engage and retain staff
  3. Provide Scheduling Feedback for effective Department staffing
  4. Effectively communicates with the team daily at huddle-ups
  5. Provide effective task assignments, performance monitoring, and coaching for direct reports
  6. Provide employee assessment and develop a recommendation for the Manager
  7. Assist the Manager to manage performance issues, including disciplinary actions, in partnership with Human Resources

Customer Offering
  1. Deliver on our value offer - Customer Driven
  2. Monitor the level of customer service and satisfaction within the department and take action as required to address issues
  3. Develop operational knowledge to provide effective customer service
  4. Assist the Department Manager in advancing the Department’s competitive position within the trading area

Operational Standards
  1. Execute plans to achieve budgeted profit, sales, and expense targets.
  2. Participate in financial plan goals and execution
  3. Ensure solid execution of in-store selling activities, company programs, key initiatives, and Business ready standards
  4. Ensure types and quantities of merchandise are ordered to address market needs and maximize sales opportunities
  5. Execute merchandising guidelines according to planograms
  6. Execute pricing guidelines
  7. Execute markdown guidelines on promotional, aged, and distressed merchandise
  8. Support and participate in seasonal, promotional merchandising, and advertising campaigns as directed through the Weekly Playbook
  9. Assume duties of Department Manager when absent as assigned
  10. Ensure appropriate inventory levels to maximize sales, inventory turns, and return on investment
  11. Monitor loss prevention practices to minimize shrink
  12. Execute equipment preventative maintenance in accordance with Standards. Escalate equipment failures to Manager and Facilities Department

Policy/ Regulatory Adherence
  1. Lead the implementation of all corporate policies, initiatives, and Standard Operating Procedures and ensure the department and employees comply and use them effectively, including timely and accurate submission of all relevant documentation as required
  2. Responsible for ensuring that H&S, food safety, and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and maintained

Requirements
  1. Minimum two years of experience in a related field
  2. Past supervisory experience
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building leadership and customer loyalty
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  6. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  7. Able to work all shifts including evenings and weekends
