Position Summary Interior Health is looking for an experienced Lead, Integrated Crisis Response Team, Mental Health and Substance Use to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

This position offer a flexible work location but will be traveling to sites throughout the Okanagan and Kamloops area so preferred candidates will be within this area of the Interior Health Region.

Salary Range: Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job: In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Lead, Integrated Crisis Response Team (ICRT), Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) provides expertise and leadership to the ICRT services within MHSU. The Lead will collaborate with key partners across the health authority to develop, implement and monitor the performance and quality framework for ICRT services. The Lead will coordinate consistent, standard regional services including orientation and training, quality improvement initiatives and data collection. The Lead provides leadership to quality improvement and evaluation initiatives by assisting in design, interpreting data, and supporting implementation of the outcomes.

The Lead utilizes communication, facilitation, conflict management, and interpersonal skills to carry out the duties and responsibilities. The Lead will understand and respond to issues and opportunities within the services and build support for change, develop new or revised initiatives and successfully implement them.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

• Continuously reviews the services to identify opportunities and/or gaps, identifying solutions and recommending priorities within existing approved plans and operational priorities. • Develops and implements standard work and guidance documents related to orientation, data collection, and general processes to ensure consistency of service delivery across communities. • Provides expertise into the development of plans, strategies and priorities, for service improvements. • Maintains a strong working knowledge of current evidence and best practice, using that knowledge to inform planning. • Collaborates with external partners to identify service gaps and develops recommendations for addressing those gaps. • Identifies opportunities to improve data collection processes identify solutions and priorities and implement strategies towards the same. • Collects, compiles, analyzes, and interprets service data to monitor program outcomes and identify emerging issues and trends. • Performs regular audits and provides reporting to Clinical Operations Managers. • Liaises with internal partners, programs, and portfolios. • Develops service goals and monitoring frameworks for the service. • Supports and coordinates connections between other related operations teams and ICRT. • Develops appropriate training, education and orientation protocols for IH staff as well as for police partners as it relates to IH based services. • Supports the evaluations process as set out by the Evaluations team. • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience • Master’s degree in a relevant field. • Three years of recent, related experience in the field of Mental Health and Substance Use, preferably in an area of crisis response, Access or Connections programs, and including experience in project coordination and quality improvement. • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. • Demonstrated ability to introduce and manage purposeful change that is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and operating principles of IH. • Demonstrated ability to identify strategies and opportunities in a dynamic environment that lead to identified outcomes. • Ability to critically analyze and synthesize evidence, and utilization/statistical data. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to facilitate and negotiate. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
