This highly technical position requires someone with a full understanding of automation systems and will be the face of the company to key global clients in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry. The Project Manager is responsible for connecting with the client from reviewing their initial needs analysis to the complete startup of automated packaging systems.

Are you passionate about this work?

  • Act as the main point of contact to support all customer needs and inquiries.
  • Review and interpret customer and vendor drawings and specifications. Meet with and communicate with customers on a regular basis to confirm the status of the project.
  • Manage customer and vendor change management and negotiations.
  • Manage the project team (including mechanical and electrical engineers) as well as support for the production department.
  • Create full-line installation documents including BOM, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts.
  • Check & validate all final design documentation and drawings according to design & contract requirements, to ensure completeness & accuracy.
  • Coordinate with all involved parties to ensure the project is executed on time and within budget.
  • Lead the site commissioning and start-up.

If this sounds like you, we want to connect
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technologist (CET) or related field.
  • 6-10 years of technical experience in Engineering and Project Management, in the packaging or automation industries.
  • A PMP designation is considered an asset but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are essential.
  • Experience with line layouts, equipment specifications, and mechanical design required (AutoCAD).
  • Equipment start-up and debugging experience.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD systems is a definite asset.
