Exercising creativity and ingenuity, our team delivers innovative, integrated, and practical solutions to complex problems for many sectors, including healthcare, industrial facilities, education, civic, commercial and airports.An opportunity exists in Stantec's Ottawa, ON office for a highly motivated Intermediate Mechanical Fuels Specialist Technologist/Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role you will be working within a mechanical engineering team towards the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on industrial, healthcare, commercial and educational projects.Coordinate and be responsible for the fuels engineering drawings and specifications on multiple projects.Prepare Technical Specifications and documents for bidding and construction.Responsible for the design of building related mechanical systems across Canada using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials.Prepare detailed engineering design calculations.Support specific sales, proposal, and project efforts.Assist with determining the scope and fee for proposed engineering services.Nurture and maintain strong client relationships in and for execution of projects, and as appropriate participate in marketing/business development.Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents.Perform field surveys for drawing development, site reviews and as recorded drawings as required.Communicate and foster strong relationships with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards to complete assignments and projects in a timely manner.Knowledge of Hydronics, Plumbing, Controls, and Fire Protection systems and their design is considered an asset.
