Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator provides ongoing advice and support to all departmental staff and central agencies in HR activities, including recruitment, training and development, employee relations, disciplinary matters, HR reporting, and performance management. The Coordinator assists in implementing and monitoring the departmental Inuit Employment Plan, works with the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit Coordinator to develop training and leadership programs, and offers technical guidance to all divisions on HR development and staff training. Key Responsibilities Provide HR support and advice to the Department of Finance’s headquarters and three regional offices. Assist senior management with job competency development, job description revisions, and performance management. Interpret and apply HR legislation; consult employees on leave, attendance, and payroll issues. Oversee recruitment and hiring processes, staff movement, payroll transactions, time and absence administration, and job description development. Handle disciplinary cases, labor relations issues, and conduct HR audits/reviews. Maintain accurate employee working files, training records, and confidential HR files in accordance with records‑management policy. Enter and manage HR data in various HR systems, databases, and spreadsheets. Conduct research, studies, or assignments on HR issues, trends, and developments. Qualifications College diploma in Human Resources Management, Labor or Industrial Relations, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant HR experience. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and experience in a northern cross‑cultural environment is an asset. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages (Inuktut, English, French) is considered an asset. Ability to work as part of a team and independently, with strong communication and organizational skills.
