FTE: 1.0 – Probationary Contract. Please note that Full Time Continuing Lethbridge School Division Teachers can apply for this position and maintain their Full Time Continuing contract if successful.

Lethbridge Christian School serves approximately 230 students and offers an Alternative Program in accordance with the Alberta Education Act within Lethbridge School Division. Subjects

Lethbridge Christian School is seeking a Grade 6 Generalist Teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible to teach Bible, English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Middle School Options (referred to Exploratory courses). In addition to teaching these courses the successful candidate will also support the school and students in a Learning Support role for Lethbridge Christian School's Elementary level students. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and a flexible team player who:

  • Has the ability to integrate Lethbridge Christian Schools mission in all subjects;
  • Has knowledge and/or experience with literacy instruction and intervention;
  • Has a proven skillset for differentiated instruction;
  • Has previous experience with Christian education will be considered an asset.

Requirements

  • Applicants must posses or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Applicants are required to submit a philosophy of Christian Education as part of their application.
  • Applicants must provide one reference from a faith based organization.

Conditions of Employment

Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
