FTE: 1.00 – Probationary Contract. Please note that Full Time Continuing Lethbridge School Division Teachers can apply for this position and maintain their Full Time Continuing contract if successful.

The expected start date is August 26, 2024.

The competition will remain open until May 7, 2024 at 10:00am.

Coalbanks Elementary School serves approximately 650 students. Coalbanks offers a Spanish Bilingual program. Lethbridge School Division is looking for individuals who demonstrate:

Subjects

Coalbanks Elementary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team for a Grade 1 to 5 Spanish teacher position at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will be expected to teach all subjects and will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who:

  • Has strong literacy and numeracy background;
  • Is able to fluently speak, read and write in Spanish (required);
  • Has combined classroom configuration experience and awareness;
  • Has an inquiry based learning background;
  • Has previous experience teaching music (considered an asset).

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
