Job Title: Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Location: Calgary, AB

Position Summary: Reporting to the Team Lead, Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst plays a key role in preparing the Company’s external financial reporting, including quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD&A, as well as assisting with accounting research and guidance in this rapidly growing company.

  • Assist with the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD&A in compliance with IFRS;
  • Assist with IFRS technical research and provide recommendations on significant accounting issues;
  • Preparation of accounting memos and other financial materials as required;
  • Provide support and guidance to operations accounting teams including accounting treatment for various operational transactions while ensuring compliance with CSOX internal controls;
  • Ensure any assigned balance sheet account reconciliations are completed monthly and appropriate journal entries are made on a timely basis;
  • Provide support to the organization’s treasury function including the accounting and journal entries for the cash flow cycle;
  • Assist with the development of ESG audit and reporting and other annual corporate filing requirements as needed (AIF, Information Circular);
  • Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including external auditors, executive and senior management;
  • Assist with ad hoc operational projects and finance transactions;

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or accounting required;
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA);
  • Exposure to major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting. Familiarity with Microsoft D365 experience would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated or related audit experience in financial and management reporting, including strong problem solving relating to the monthly consolidation process;
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
