Job Summary

Reporting to the Category Manager, the Procurement Analyst or Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for conducting all procurement activities necessary to deliver value on their category.

Main Responsibilities

Procurement Management

  1. Interact with internal stakeholders, understand their needs and promote value creation.
  2. Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process.
  3. Develop procurement strategy and supplier market knowledge.
  4. Negotiate contracts with suppliers (commercial & legal clauses).
  5. Direct contracts, supplier relationships and supplier performance.
  6. Work with Buyers to ensure all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass etc.).
  7. Ensure that all internal requirements in terms of compliance to procurement policy are met and addressed.
  8. Participate and support department-wide projects when required.

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The position has a flexible work-from-home policy.

Requirements

Experience

  1. Between 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (Procurement Analyst).
  2. Between 4 to 5 years experience in a similar role (Senior Procurement Specialist).

Education/Certification/Designation

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Law or equivalent.
  2. Applies analytical thinking to make recommendations that pursue sustainable performance.
  3. Project management skills.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  1. Ability to read and understand basic contract documents.
  2. Ability to drive innovative analysis to understand market trends, cost drivers, suppliers, and best practices.
  3. Strong technical skills related to data tools & presentation of data.
  4. Understand contract structure, terms and conditions, and supplier performance principles.
  5. Basic understanding of Incoterms, Customs, and documentation required for international imports.
  6. Knowledge of commercial aspects of product/service categories.
  7. Understand rail transportation or logistics industry.
