Intermediate/Senior Environmental Risk Assessor

OverviewPinchin is currently looking for a Senior Risk Assessor to join Pinchin’s Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) team in Mississauga, ON. The primary components of the work are to oversee and prepare risk assessments and soil vapour intrusion assessments under Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 153/04 and for due diligence purposes.The successful candidate must have experience completing Ontario risk assessment process (O. Reg. 153/04), as well as indoor air and soil vapour intrusion assessments. An understanding or willingness to learn other applicable Provincial or Federal regulations is an asset, such that the candidate may support the ERA Practice across Canada, as needed.Travel to client sites and between offices for meetings may be required. Effective communication and collaboration with staff at different offices and service lines is essential.What You Will Be Doing At PinchinPrepare risk assessment reports and provide recommendations; activities may include data tabulation, data review, exposure modeling, reporting, intermediate quality reviews, editingProject management of risk assessment and/or soil vapour intrusion assessment projects and provide technical expertise on human health and ecological risk managementAct as an inter-office liaison for Pinchin’s ERA Practice, by conducting risk assessment feasibilities and assisting in data gap analyses, based on Phase II/Two site investigationsFinancial responsibility for projects, preparation of proposals, reports and invoicesParticipate in business development efforts with both new and existing clientsMaintain and enhance quality control within the groupAssist in mentoring and training junior professional staff, as neededSubmit all work for quality review prior to submission to clientsPerform any other job-related duties that may be assignedWhat You Bring To The Pinchin TeamBachelor of Science Degree. Degree in biological sciences, toxicology or environmental studies is preferredMinimum 4 years’ experience in environmental consulting, including experience conducting complete risk assessments as well as indoor air and soil vapour intrusion assessments.Project Management experience is an assetExperience conducting and coordinating soil vapour intrusion assessments is an assetMust be familiar with O. Reg. 153/04, at a minimum. An understanding of other applicable Provincial or Federal environmental regulations is an assetProficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point and OutlookExcellent report writing and verbal communication skillsAptitude for reasoning and problem-solvingStrong time management and multi-tasking skillsAbility to work both independently and in groups, as required for complex projectsValid driver’s license required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)Availability to travel for work within the GTA region and between offices for team and client meetings.
