We understand that, as professionals in the engineering field, the work we do builds the places we live, work, and play for generations and we are proud to play our part.Position OverviewReporting directly to the Southern Interior Manager, the successful Engineer in Training or Junior P.Eng. will be involved in a combination of civil and geotechnical projects. The position will include the provision of engineering services from proposal stage through to survey, assessment, design and construction of projects. Projects may vary from resource sector road and crossing survey and design to geotechnical assessments to support resource development and construction. The successful applicant will have the opportunity for professional development working with a motivated and dynamic team of experienced professionals. Fieldwork is an integral part of this position, and applicants must be prepared for field work including hiking in to remote sites in all conditions.ResponsibilitiesMajor Job Functions: Assisting civil engineers and geotechnical engineers in all aspects of their projects including:Site investigations; including geotechnical drilling and/or test pittingSite surveying (total station and RTK GPS)Report preparationRoad and crossing designCoordinating project drawings and reportsAssisting with field reviews during constructionAssisting with project management and/or contract administrationSkills and KnowledgeStrong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.Strong technical analysis and technical writing capabilitiesPhysically fit and comfortable with outdoor work and occasional travelStrong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work on numerous projectsWillingness to learn and work with limited supervisionEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geological or Forest EngineeringEligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT or P.Eng.Salary Range1st Year EIT (E1-E2) $60-$70k2nd Year EIT (E2) $65-$75k3rd Year EIT (E2) $75-$85k4th Year EIT (E2-E3) $80-$90kJunior P.Eng.
