Are you a seasoned credit professional looking to take your career to the next level? We're seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our commercial credit team in Canada.
About the Role:- Ensure credit applications are adjudicated promptly and within the Bank's risk selection parameters.
- Make sound and timely credit decisions by exercising sound credit judgment in approving and declining credit applications within established limits.
- Oversee an assigned portfolio and monitor unsatisfactory trends in risk ratings, credit conditions, overdue reporting, annual reviews, etc.
- Contribute to the development of the Bank's commercial human resources by identifying training/coaching needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of a designated commercial portfolio of loans at an acceptable level of risk. This includes:
- Recommending and presenting proposals on loan applications above established limits.
- Maintaining a current awareness of the Bank's loan policies, economic and business trends.
- Ensuring sound and timely credit decisions conforming to Bank policies and procedures.
- Providing coaching, direction, and guidance to Banking and Business Service Centre staff concerning credit applications when required.
- Expert understanding of Bank lending policies and procedures, financial analysis, risk assessment techniques, credit structuring, collateral and security documentation and registration, collection, related legislation, and accounting practices.
- Good understanding of the Bank's operating policies and procedures.
- Proven credit judgment and ability to administer a commercial credit portfolio.
- Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills.
- University educated with a degree in business. Successful completion of a CPA, CFA, or MBA is an asset.
