We are currently looking for Industrial Journeyperson Pipefitters to join our team in Calgary, Alberta The Journeyperson Pipefitter is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems on industrial projects. This role ensures all work meets quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Journeyperson Pipefitter contributes to project success through technical expertise, precision workmanship, and mentorship of apprentices to uphold Trotter & Morton's commitment to excellence in the field.What's In It For YouCompetitive pay ratesExtensive benefit planInclusive and engaging work environmentRRSP contributionsFun company events and barbequesKey ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirementsMake detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installationMeasure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittingsCut openings for pie in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machinesSelect type and size of pipe requiredMeasure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power toolsWeld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systemInstall supports, valves, piping and control systemsTest system for leaks using testing equipmentClean and maintain pipe units, fittings and flush systemRemove and replace worn components and reactivate systemMentor and train apprentices (if applicable)Perform other duties as requiredSkills and AbilitiesStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeAttention to detail and high degree of accuracyGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work overtime or shift work as requiredResult orientatedKnowledge and QualificationsJourneyperson Pipefitter CertificateIndustrial construction experienceKnowledge of current applicable CodeSuperior knowledge of applicable hand tools & power tools and scissor liftsInstallation, maintenance, and repair skills.Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs.Ability to develop and implement planned maintenance programs.Ability to read, understand, and follows safety proceduresWe firmly believe our employees are our best assets and we are committed to providing ongoing training and support to allow them to reach their full potential.
