Hundreds of cases have been funded to completion, delivering unmatched dispute‑resolution expertise. About The Role You will serve as Legal Counsel supporting the litigation investment team. The position is based in Montreal, Canada, and involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and external law firms across the globe. Key Responsibilities Conduct due diligence on prospective funding opportunities, including legal, factual, and financial analysis. Collaborate closely with lawyers and clients seeking funding to assess the merits of their litigation. Provide recommendations on the appropriateness of funding various opportunities. Assist with the review, management, and oversight of funded cases. Analyze relevant legal and market issues as directed. Engage with Omni colleagues across global offices on investment opportunities and corporate matters. Support business‑development activities, including presentations, network development, article writing, and maintaining relationships with key law firms. Required Skills And Qualifications Licensed and in good standing as a member of the Barreau du Québec. Fluency in French and English. Minimum 4 years post‑call litigation experience, particularly in complex litigation. Superior academic credentials. Experience in litigation strategy within complex litigation. Knowledge of the Canadian courts and litigation process. Understanding of financial reporting and ability to analyze public and private companies and trust structures. Desired Experience Business or finance education. Common law experience. Personal Characteristics Self‑motivated, responsible, mature, and driven. Thrives working in a close team setting. Desire to transition from private practice to a growing public company. Vigorous work ethic and confident in voicing viewpoints. Innovative thinker with a growth mindset and passion for quality work.
