Reporting

We are looking for an experienced Audio Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Audio Designer is responsible for elaborating and implementing best in class interactive sound design that supports and enriches the game creative and audio vision. They will influence the project strategy for sound design and provide mentorship and guidance to the audio team as well as collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to elevate the game's sonic experience.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Collaborate with the audio director to define and develop the audio aesthetic of the game.
  2. Collaborate with the audio director to elaborate and implement the musical direction of the game.
  3. Proactively identify audio challenges and create innovative solutions to achieve the highest quality sound.
  4. Implement and mix all sound assets types in Wwise and Unreal 5.
  5. Keep up to date with cutting-edge sound design techniques and promote its use when beneficial to the game.
  6. Identify and collaborate with several outsourcers for sound design, voice, and music.
  7. Identify in collaboration with the technical audio director and audio programmers the tools and technologies needed to realize the audio direction.
  8. Mentor Jr sound design staff in realizing high quality assets both artistically and technically.
  9. Advocate quality audio to the whole team.
Experience and Skills Required
  1. Experience as Audio Designer on a AAA title.
  2. Expert in sound design, mixing and music design.
  3. Advanced knowledge in field recording and sound synthesis techniques.
  4. Advanced knowledge of audio game technologies and tools.
  5. Proficient with major DAWs and expert in at least one.
  6. Proficient with 3D audio techniques such as object based mixing, ambisonics and HRTF.
  7. Knowledge of current games to benchmark audio.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the development team.
  9. Excellent ability to organize and prioritize your own work.
  10. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge and experience in Unreal 4 and/or 5.
  2. Experience in building and maintaining audio systems in a GAAS environment.
  3. Deep understanding of audio pipelines and performance constraints.
  4. Musical training.
