Our client is looking for a qualified candidate to take on the role of Senior Environmental Lead in diverse projects. Responsibilities encompass scrutinizing contract documents for deliverables, assessing specifications and submittals, drafting environmental permit and approval applications, evaluating contractor submissions for completeness, conducting technical reviews, and collaborating with other technical support personnel as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the creation of technical reports, including tender packages, technical specifications, contract drawings, and cost estimates. • Lead or contribute to the acquisition of permits and approvals such as Environmental Compliance Approvals (covering Air and Noise, water, and waste management). • Coordinate tasks with various environmental specialists (e.g., noise, air quality, archaeology, built heritage, fisheries, terrestrial ecologists, etc.). • Stay abreast of current and emerging environmental regulatory requisites and industry best practices. • Deliver top-tier environmental services within agreed-upon budgets and timelines. • Address requests for proposals and cultivate robust client relationships. • Manage, coordinate, and foster business connections with clients, regulators, service providers (e.g., laboratories, subcontractors), and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Hold a degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field. • Possess Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) certification • Accumulate a minimum of 15 years of pertinent experience. • Demonstrate a thorough comprehension of provincial and federal environmental regulations. • Familiarity with environmental assessment procedures (e.g., Municipal Class EA) is advantageous. • Experience with environmental assessment or permitting follow-up and monitoring (e.g., construction environmental monitoring) is a plus. • Capable of interpreting and annotating environmental details on engineering drawings and maps. • Background in environmental analysis and a robust understanding of construction operations. • Willingness to travel periodically. • Prior consulting experience is beneficial. • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and adeptness in building personal networks. • Ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Display enthusiasm for personal and professional advancement, collaborative problem-solving, and the creation of innovative solutions. • Familiarity with operating in a fast-paced consulting atmosphere and adapting to complex challenges. • Support business development initiatives and project management. • Proficient in planning and producing high-quality reports, with strong technical writing abilities and a talent for presenting information clearly and succinctly.
