What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and mentor employees to develop a high-performing and cohesive team Work together with the People and Culture Team to effectively resolve internal staff conflicts, and to ensure employees have access to available resources Participate in the hiring, onboarding and training of new employees Conduct annual performance evaluations, provide regular performance feedback and coaching, and implement disciplinary measures as required Follow and enforce all safety initiatives and policies, and champion the company safety culture Delegate responsibilities and oversee branch operations Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to ensure top-quality customer service at all stages of the rental process Work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure a team-based approach to problem solving Focus on keeping fleet rental ready through establishing efficient and effective shop flow Supervise mechanics to ensure priorities are being set and preventative maintenance schedule is being followed Make recommendations to management regarding rental fleet inventory
What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the construction equipment rental industry or a closely related field Thorough knowledge of construction equipment would be an asset Prior experience with managing a team is an asset Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract Highly results-driven with a customer-oriented mindset Ability to lead and inspire a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with customers, employees, and other parties at all levels of the organization in a professional manner Comfortable with computers and proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point). Experience with viewing reports in PowerBI, and with Systematic Rental Management software (or similar software) is an asset Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary diploma in a relevant field would be an asset but is not required
