Performance and Optimization Engineer (34524) We are looking for a Performance & Optimization Specialist to perform network performance monitoring and analysis by collecting and analyzing information, identifying abnormalities, diagnosing root causes of performance issues, and recommending improvements (e.g., QoS optimization, parameter tuning, SW upgrades) to meet contractual KPI targets. The role involves generating daily/weekly/monthly reports, conducting capacity utilization assessments, and recommending optimal network strategies for future traffic/capacity needs using automation techniques. Required Soft Skills Strong communication skills Self‑starter who uses deep technical expertise to assess network configuration and devise feature/parameter trial plans independently. Ability to engage customers for technical discussions, reviews of technical reports and recommendations. NM Time zone support Required Technical Skill Set Strong understanding of 5G NSA, SA (FDD & TDD) and LTE. Hands‑on experience with trials/optimization projects for 5G NSA/SA, with demonstrated expertise in Coverage optimization (e.g., SRS Beamforming), Throughput optimization, Load balancing, layering, and Traffic Steering from low to high bands. Hands‑on experience with trials/optimization projects for LTE, with demonstrated expertise in Data/VoLTE Drop‑call improvement, Load balancing, Layering and Traffic Steering from low to high bands. Ability to analyze internal syslogs, eNB/gNB EMIL/DCAP logs, TTI traces for quick troubleshooting and issue resolution for lab or field activities. Expertise with UE and eNB/gNB signaling log analysis (UU, X2, S1 signaling). Experience with UE logging tools such as QXDM, XCAL, or equivalent and proficiency with those tools. Experience with Actix post‑processing of DT logs. Job Responsibilities Perform critical (sometimes escalated) design and performance activities in customer projects independently. Develop and review network‑wide designs covering performance, spectrum, and capacity, supported by recommendations. Organize field measurements and laboratory tests, and perform network audits when faults or problems exist. Optimize networks with all components based on traffic trends and customer forecasts. Support experts in developing network configuration files and interface analysis. Project Specific Roles LTE LMS assessment and LTE feature evaluation, executing trials for Load balancing and traffic steering from low to high bands. LTE and VoLTE Drop‑call rate improvement via troubleshooting configuration issues, analyzing counters, and creating trial plans for KPI improvement through feature trials and parameter tuning. 5G LMS assessment and feature evaluation, executing trials for 5G DL/UL throughput improvement, coverage improvement, and traffic steering from low to high bands.
