We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.Casualty Facultative UnderwriterWe have the following job opportunity in our Toronto office:DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Underwriter to manage the Casualty Facultative portfolio in Canada. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Selecting, pricing and underwriting facultative casualty businessMarketing to existing and potential clients across CanadaProducing quarterly and annual reports as well as various departmental budgetsDemonstrating sound underwriting skills, and is adept in the application of rates, forms, pricing structures, terms and conditionsStaying up to date on industry dynamics and policy form coveragesRequirementsMinimum of 15+ years as an underwriter in the insurance or reinsurance industryProven experience underwriting Casualty business with an emphasis on casualty facultative or traditional casualtyExperience managing an underwriting portfolio and familiarity with common Casualty risksAbility to build and maintain strong client relationshipsAbility to analyze and evaluate contract languageAbility to work autonomously with decision making authorityWritten and Oral fluency in French is a plusSolid understanding of the cause-effect relationship of decisions and their impact on the businessStrong interpersonal, communication, excel and word skillsStrong time management and organizational skillsWork ScheduleTransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives.
