Medical Information Specialist (Canada) Position Summary: The Medical Information Specialist will be responsible for handling unsolicited medical inquiries within the Medical Information Contact Center (MICC), ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant responses. In addition to MICC responsibilities, the role includes researching scientific literature, developing Standard Response Letters (SRLs), Custom Response Letters (CRLs), and creating high‑quality written responses aligned with company and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Respond to medical information inquiries from customers (via phone, email, website, or mail) with accuracy, scientific balance, and high‑quality customer service. Document inquiries and responses completely and accurately in line with company SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Research, assess, and summarize published medical and scientific literature to create high‑quality Standard Response Letters (SRLs) and Custom Response Letters (CRLs). Regularly update and maintain a database of medical information documents, ensuring relevance and compliance. Report Adverse Events (AEs) and Product Quality Complaints (PQCs) received during inquiry handling within defined timelines and procedures. Demonstrate strong knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and relevant disease states; ensure expertise is applied in medical information response. Utilize platforms and tools to create, review, track, and manage medical information documents efficiently. Contribute to internal training by preparing and delivering training materials, as required. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Compliance, Pharmacovigilance) to ensure consistency, compliance, and scientific accuracy. Participate in quality reviews, audits, and process improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery. Work on other ad‑hoc responsibilities or tasks as assigned. Qualifications Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field (PharmDs, Pharmacists, or Nurse Practitioners preferred). Prior experience of 1–2 years in Medical Information, Medical Affairs, or an MICC role is desirable. Strong literature review, data interpretation, and scientific writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to work independently. Competencies Strong scientific and analytical mind.
