Job Function:

Under the direction of the Manager and FLM, develop inventory optimization strategies to meet target service levels and to minimize risk and overall cost. Analyze and recommend improvements to the end-to-end inventory management processes, including controls, flow of materials, obsolescence and surplus management. Liaise with the other functions to optimize the flow of materials through the supply chain, minimizing costs and optimizing customer service levels. Analyze inventory levels, trends, performance, costs and other indicators and recommend re-deployment of inventories or changes to the inventory strategy.

Job Description:

-Develop inventory optimization strategies, analyze alternatives and recommend improvements under the direction of Inventory Manager. Analyze inventory trends and seasonal patterns, applying scientific inventory management tools (i.e. computer algorithms) to assist in the determination of optimum inventories.
-Carry out inventory risk management analysis and recommend re-deployment and balancing of inventories across multiple warehouses to maximize the utilization of inventories.
-Track and report material usage and cost patterns to all stakeholders.
-Analyze and recommend improvements to the end-to-end inventory fulfillment processes and control processes. Liaise with other supply chain function such as Warehouse and Transportation (regarding inventory control processes), Strategic Purchasing (regarding vendor lead times, Blanket Purchase Order strategy), Technical Authority (regarding technical obsolescence and forecasting) and Investment Recovery (regarding the redeployment and disposition of surplus inventories.
-Facilitate the process to obtain and validate forecasts from Partner groups, including facilitating meetings and providing the analysis of previous usage and trends.
-Develop and analyze inventory performance measures, including identifying suitable key performance measures, measure on a regular basis, explain variances from period to period, and suggest possible resolutions.
-Evaluate and investigate discrepancies during cycle counts and annual physical inventories, including auditing inventory control processes and providing recommendations for improvements to the Inventory Manager.
-Visit partner, supplier or other stakeholder locations throughout the country or USA on various work related matters or issues.
-Provide functional guidance to the material analysts and clerical staff in the unit, assisting with difficult problems, and coaching, as required.
-Provide guidance/instruction to warehousing and other units on changes to the supply chain initiated from the inventory management function.
-Perform other duties as required.
