Sourcing and Merchandising Product Specialist

We follow principles of better materials, thoughtful manufacturing, and transparency to provide customers with confidence in their purchases.We are a small, collaborative team seeking a consumer-focused and analytical-minded Product Specialist who is team-oriented, versatile, and eager to tackle the challenges of a high-energy start-up.The RoleThe Product Specialist will work closely with the Product/Marketing/Web teams and will drive the following tasks:Take responsibility for presentation, content, SEO, maintenance, catalog, and overall business health of key products and servicesEnsure eCommerce content on silkandsnow.com and partner websites is accurate, compelling, and up-to-dateDrive product development and relay product knowledge to merchandising, sales, and customer experience for creation of sales/marketing toolsContinually stay ahead of market and industry trendsPropose and define product pricing strategy, prepare competitor and financial analyses, and make recommendations to maximize sales and profit (including wholesale and retail feedback)Identify opportunities to improve product and category profitability by monitoring SKU productivity, competitors, conversion rates, and website recommendations to reduce return ratesIdentify opportunities for category expansion — assortment selection, flow, life cycle, and distribution across multiple channelsDrive product development to ensure timely commercialization and adherence to the product roadmap, including cross-functional communication, support, and sign-offsEnforce Silk & Snow’s product and manufacturing principles, including production, quality, and delivery requirements with all suppliersEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements for products and packagingWork cross-functionally to launch and merchandise products and obtain feedbackCreate clear timelines and objectives, assuming project management responsibilities to ensure deliverables, oversee cross-functional communication and sign-offPartner with and develop strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing with a product marketing plan across all channels) and external stakeholders (vendors)Who You Are3-5 years’ experience in product management, product development, merchandising, direct sourcing, or related discipline3-5 years’ experience scaling new product categories in a B2C consumer products brandExperience with bedding, sleep products, soft home decor, and related categoriesProven track record managing all aspects of a product through its lifecycle, with understanding of supply chain and sourcing processesAbility to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities independently to drive projects to completionBusiness savvy and up to date on current market and industry trendsProficient in Excel and Google SheetsResourceful, proactive, and a true team playerAdditional InformationWhy our team members enjoy working at Silk & Snow:We prioritize diversity and inclusivity in our company cultureGrowth opportunities with emphasis on hiring from withinAccess to a streamlined training process with guidance and support during and after trainingLifeSpeak learning platform with free courses to support personal and professional developmentCompetitive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) and paid time offEmployee discount on all products and a free mattress and bedding set after probationMake a meaningful impact on customers’ sleep habits and well-beingHealthy work-life balance in a supportive environmentCareer with potential opportunities for growth and advancementJob DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Marketing and SalesIndustries: RetailReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Silk & Snow.
