The Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre was launched in 2018, with a focus on mental health and neurodevelopmental disabilities in adulthood. The full-time, 1-year contract Research Manager will report to the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Scientific Director and the Director, Clinical Research. The successful candidate will support ongoing operations of a donor funded program affiliated with the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service (ANS) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). The Research Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the operations of the Azrieli Centre, which encompasses human resource management, including recruitment and performance management of staff; scheduling; on-boarding; monitoring key performance indicators; supporting quality and safety initiatives; providing co-ordination and leadership to the team and maintaining linkages between the Azrieli Centre research, education, knowledge exchange and CAMH clinical activities; and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. This position will be expected to work closely with Research Managers across CAMH to align processes and operations, when applicable. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be involved in budget monitoring, and support the Director in preparing narrative and financial reports for the donor. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service, Patient and Family Engagement core infrastructure, Education, The Provincial System Support Program (PSSP), Research Operations, Services and Support office, and the CAMH Foundation to facilitate the vision of the Centre Director. The successful candidate will also be expected to work cooperatively with other departments to meet and maintain institutional, regulatory standards and department requirements including but not limited to: Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Office of Professional Practice, Biosafety, Safety, Contract Development, Research Ethics Board and Support Services. The successful candidate will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, including neurodiversity and encourages team work. This position is located primarily at 1025 Queen Street West. A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. health sciences/ business administration/healthcare management) required. The ideal candidate will have three (3) years of research operations experience in a healthcare organization including a good understanding of the Canadian and U.S. grant funding landscape. Experience within developmental disabilities research, implementation science, knowledge translation with diverse stakeholders, and patient oriented research and engagement is preferred. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience in hospital/grant accounting and reporting. The successful candidate must have proven strong analytical, project management, organizational, conceptual and decision making skills and must work well in a team environment. Superior and proven management and leadership skills are essential. The successful candidate must possess strong written and verbal communications skills, particularly as they relate to the explanation of complex systems to a broader audience; be able to take control of complex situations, with demonstrated superior initiative and creative thinking; and be able to manage a multiplicity of tasks with a high degree of focus, including the ability to rapidly shift between a number of relevant priorities. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to provide assistance, leadership, and mentoring to partners and other team members while remaining focused on assigned initiatives. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language are an asset. Please Note:
