About the Role Affirm’s Customer Advocacy and Retention (CAR) team sits within Customer Operations and houses our customer complaint experts. As a Customer Advocacy Specialist, you will be the Voice of the Customer, using exceptional empathy and product knowledge to resolve complex complaints and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the customer experience. What You’ll Do Review, respond to, and investigate complaints submitted directly by customers. Solve customer issues efficiently and empathetically, crafting tailored written responses rather than relying heavily on predetermined templates. Communicate with customers via email and phone as appropriate. Classify and document all complaints with extreme attention to detail. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, Communications, etc.) to remediate thematic problems. Improve resources and tools available to customers, driving education and streamlining service. Identify areas for process, procedure, or tooling improvement and lead project workstreams. Develop subject‑matter expertise on current and emerging products, consumer finance policies, and regulatory requirements. What We Look For Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience in operations, customer support, social media management, communications, or related fields. Exceptional communication and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail, grammar, brand tone, and voice. Eagerness to think outside the box for solutions to complex complaints and process improvement. Resilience and ability to manage challenging interactions and navigate complexity and uncertainty. Strong customer empathy and service‑level focus. Proactive mindset, constantly seeking improvement opportunities. Team player sensitive to others’ perspectives. Compensation Base Pay Grade: D Equity Grade: 1 Annual base pay range: $55,000 – $75,000. Benefits may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for employees and dependents, and eligibility for equity rewards offered by Affim Holdings, Inc.
