This position is responsible for leading the activities of a central manufacturing engineering team that is focused on corporate projects with the goal of advancing manufacturing operations, giving Brandt a clear competitive advantage and consistently delivering high quality, timely products at the lowest possible cost.Collaborate with your team, other leads, and managers to execute on projects.Support Brandt’s formal quality and safety programs.Research, identify, and propose strategic opportunities to advance manufacturing operations.Design, develop, document, implement, and maintain project plans with the aim of advancing Brandt manufacturing initiatives.Assist in the development of manufacturing facility proposals with consideration for all aspects of the product line requirements and operational goals.Work with Operations and manufacturing teams to implement major new process and capital changes.Practice and promote lean principles in your team with a focus on cost reduction, increased quality, shortened timelines, and increased throughput.Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention plan for your team members.Work with design engineering platforms on Design for Manufacturing initiatives to identify product changes that reduce cost.Minimum 5 years working in fabrication operations.Ability to read and understand technical drawings.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote).Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills.Lean manufacturing training and experience.Strong working knowledge of manufacturing practices and industrial equipment.An engineering degree or mechanical technologist diploma is required.Intermittent travel required to support corporate projects.
