This is a front-line career in retail security where vigilance, professionalism, and quick decision-making contribute to a safe shopping environment while reducing theft and fraud in high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings. Responsibilities Protect and deter – Maintain a visible and professional in-store presence to actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations. Apprehend with confidence – Safely and lawfully detain offenders, following all company and legal procedures. Investigate and collaborate – Conduct internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and coordinate with law enforcement when required. Reduce shrink – Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies. Support operations – Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations. Stay agile – Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule and the ability to adapt to new challenges. Qualifications Credentials and knowledge – Valid Provincial Security Guard License; knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation. Technical edge – Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Professional presence – Approachable, confident, and respectful with exceptional communication skills. Integrity and initiative – High level of trustworthiness, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. Retail insight – Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is an asset.
